STATUTORY CONSTRUCTION United States v. Hunt, No. 05-6023, ___ F.3d ___ (10th Cir. Aug. 9, 2006)(W.D. Oklahoma). Appeal of conviction for forgery. HELD: Defendant was wrongly convicted of forgery in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 513. Check written by an agent with check-writing authority and signed by agent using his own name is not “forged” under § 513 merely because agent exceeded bounds of authority as agreed between himself and principal.
